It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."

Because if she let go of her grief even for a minute, it would only hit her harder when she bumped into it again.

It's as though Munro has experienced the loss of someone very close.

I'm always amazed at people who still have their mates and yet offer almost nonsensical advice. They mean well but they're clueless. Until you've lost someone who is your life, or makes your life complete, there is no way for you to understand the pain.

It has been a year for me. Without apology, if I died tomorrow, I wouldn't care. That does not mean I am suicidal; it means life no longer has meaning for me without him.

  3. It has been 9 years since he left so abruptly. The grief is still there in the silence, or in the laughter of grandchildren that he will never hear, or smiles he will never see.

Hoping you are doing well, and that your pre-planning is progressing nicely.

  4. Candice, hoping you will have dear ones around for the holiday weekend.
No, we don't know how it feels if it hasn't happened, but we worry about it constantly and hope we will cope if it does. I think you are doing so well my dear, you are an inspiration.

Enjoy each Summer day as much as you can, planning for the future is going to keep you busy and bring you new happy times I think.

    Hugs - Mary

P.S. Sorry I've been MIA - was away most of June.

No one knows the number of tears shed in the shower before you leave the bathroom with a different face, do they?
